Bob Fosse said: "Dance expresses Joy better than anything else." He could not have been more right. Why do you dance ... why would anyone dance? The most common reply to this question is because it makes you feel good. That's where you find your joy!
And we should always strive towards doing things that bring us joy and share it with others.
It is very possible and also probable that at some point in your daily and weekly dance training you find yourself in a repetitive mode, where the training feels more like a task and you feel not so connected to the feeling of joy. That's completely normal.
Once you notice yourself being in this kind of mode and you feel that your energy levels are lower than you'd like them to be, you've already taken the first step back towards higher energy and finding joy.
It is so important to remember that you are always in charge of your level of energy and how you want to feel.
To get back to dancing with Joy - remind yourself of why you dance.
Reminding yourself of your WHY does not require a 2 hour long meditation or a special place in nature or anything like that ... you don't even have to close your eyes. You most likely already know why you dance, so you don't have to look for an answer and you can lift your energy and find your joy in a fraction of a second ... even in the middle of doing a combination in class.
Give it a try!
And ... as a bonus: Once you are dancing with joy, just observe the other dancers around you.
This energy is contagious!
Enjoy dancing with Joy and raising your Confidence.
